There is a reader of this website asking and wanting to know what capacitor a Trane XE1000 uses. Trane xe1000 have a dual capacitor. It is two capacitors inside one can. The 40/5 mean 40 micro farad/ 5 micro farad. One capacitor is for the condenser, the other is for the fan.
What you need do when the trane xe1000 label is missing for one or any reason is call a local HVAC company and tell them you diagnosed a capacitor bad buts its missing a label. Or calling the local supply house that sells Trane. You need to give them the model and serial number, and then ask for the trane xe1000 capacitor size.
Most of the trane xe1000 capacitors have a label on them indicating what size they are. If you can get in to look at the labels on the fan motor and compressor it should say in what size capacitors they need. 45/7.5 capacitor seems right for a 2.5 ton system.
